Gemma started eating teething rings this month... not sure if she teething. This gal really likes to put everything she can grab into her mouth, even her toes... haha

She now can cry if she wans us to carry... oh oh....

today, she might be drinking FM supplement liao cos she has been drinkin more milk nowadays.
this orn, only about 2 and half bottles at home... sob sob...so tat means i manage to exclusive feed BM for abt 5 mths plus? hope i can still give her BM for as long as possible. This is the second tin we bought so far just in case she dun have enough. The first tin was not used finish (almost half fill) but cos it already open for more than 1 mth, we threw away.

Last Thur nite, I finally move Gemma over to my room to sleep. She has her own playpen and it's adjacent to Jasper playpen. First nite was tough and I nearly give up as she was frightened of the new sleeping environment and cried. Actually she did sleep in my room once a while in her brother playpen and was comfortable. So not sure what happen.

We bought a piyo piyo playpen from kiddy palace but only managed to fix it last week. This week I took leave on Fri and Mon so I thought this is the best time to try making her sleep together. At least if I dun get my beauty sleep at nite, I still can rest during the day.

Fri nite is the best. She was almost dozing off in her cot when I move her over to my room. She slept through out the nite. Though Jasper cry once, she didn't woke up.

Sat nite was back to square one. She cried again. I tried to pacify her but invalid and I no choice put her back to her room. She still cry but after trying to play with her, she finally smiled and calm down. In the end, she slept at 1 a.m....

Sun nite I make her try to sleep in her own cot first and at about 12 plus, move her over my room. She didn't cry but was struggling to sleep. I pat her and then soon she was sleeping.

Hope we can try this week again since it a long wkend again. *yawn....

Gemma has her second jab and second dose of rotavirus. She was drinking the dose very fast according to doc cos she is hungry. keke.

As usual got slight fever so will monitor her.

She is now 5.4kg. She has grown taller too.

Kranji resort invitation

We are proud to be invited to the opening of kranji resort. The resort is really huge with many farms, seafood restaurant, beer garden, spa and chalet stay (think about 10).

Saw Jacky Wu name? yes we manage to see him but not during his performance as Jasper is cranky liao. Gemma also abt to drink her next feed and the ebm is in the car... didn't know we will stay that long. Anyway we went back at 430pm.

4 month celebration

Early in the morning, I went to the market to buy the chicken drumsticks, minced pork for her mee sua. Already bought the biscuits. This time couldn't get hold of the Taiwan brand so I bought danish cookies (which have holes for me to make necklace) and Marie biscuits (loosely translate as Money in chinese so hope she have plentiful of $$. haha

Then I went to cake shop and bought a lovely pink cake for her.

Was arranging the items before my mum arrive.

Then mum arrive with Deon and we start the celebration. Gemma sat on the bumbo. She is quite firm now, though at times we still need to support her neck.

Then I let Gemma wear the necklace. I then start to say good words like got many food to eat, don't keep salivating. It is a hokkein tradition which my elder son also follow so I did it for her as well. Just hope the biscuits work! haha cos the taiwan ones work for Jasper it seem!

After that, my mum feed her with mee sua. She finds the smell funny and give a awkward look but she open her mouth.

Next, is the two drumsticks. Then everyone sing a mini birthday song for her... haha actually is not her bd, but nephew wanted to sing so sing lor. We proceeded to blow and cut cake. Everyone is happy and the celebration ended. My mum gave a big ang pow to her for luck.

After lunch, we bid farewell to my mum and Deon and we went to my friend Winnie's house. She also had a kid same year as my boy so decided to let them play together. She is now pregnant and delivering in Jan.

When we reached there, it was drizzling but we still went for a short swim with the kids. Ethan and Jasper didn't really play together but at least they enjoy themselves.

Back home, I took photos of Gemma again cos it her 4 mth so must have many photos for memory :)

Fun at Changi Chalet...

My friend Grace is having a full month celebration for her second son Justus. So I brought my two kiddos to the party.

She is v guai and behave well at the party. Well I didn't eat much but was glad that Jasper and mei mei enjoy themselves. haha. Jasper play with the other kids but at times will take a look at mei mei like a big kor kor.

Gemma laughs when she sees Gor Gor laugh or play. Jasper was doing somersaults just now and she actually laughed and giggled. Then when Jasper start to throw the diapers on the floor, she got amused and laughed too. Such a funny and heartwarming sight. Jasper also laughed along. Hope they stay happy this way together :)

Today, Gemma is able to flip/roll over but still do not know how to flip back as her hand got stuck.

This morning Gemma woke up v early and I played with her. She was giggling... really... she actually laugh when I hit onto the toy monkey just above her head. So cute...

Days are gone so fast... Gemma is already past 3 mths...

last time she still sucks but after a while cry when the let down comes... now it is totally no no...

I am so sad...

Last Fri nite, as maid was still bz, I offer my breast to her to see if she can suck n doze off since she couldn't sleep. but she cry when I put the n* in... I thought she wasn't hungry so I didn't really think abt it.

then Sat I took her out as we need to eat our dinner. then while carrying her eating, she start to make en en sound. I check time n it was her feeding time. I then did my first bf in public since I was still eatin. Hb ask me if I comfortable. I told him I ready as I had my sling as a shawl. but Gemma didn't want...

so we went to bf room... the room is so cozy... the one at Great World City... good place for mummies ah! but Gemma still dun wan to suck... she just kept crying n I feel so hopeless.

Then someone came in and she must be wondering who is inside... hiaz... she was still crying when I carried her out... must be hungry... poor chap... but she just didn't wan to latch.

so we end up hurrying home... Jasper was still clueless haha... he also didn't play enough.

then in the car, I try latching her again. At first she still screamed and tears flow again. Then somehow, she realised there seem no better choice already and she end up sucking a little each time and then doze off...

Then we reach home, n I put her back to cot... n She was smiling!!! OMG... she so cheeky... y she dun wan to latch huh... then we make hot ebm n fed her again...

now I wondering when she grows big n more trips out, how to feed her liao... headache...

btw, she will have two playmates (girls) nxt time... My friends' gals are abt 2 to 3 mths apart only (1 in Sep and other is Oct)... so close right? lucky for her since all these while alot of my fren kids r boys... haha boys r more easier to make it seem... oops...

Little Gemma turned full 90 degrees successfully last nite. She was lying on our bed and then prob she wanted to see me as I was singing to Jasper. so she turned around and tried to turn sideways towards me. Probably soon when her neck is strong enough, she will turn to crawling position.... that is really fast considering she is just abt 11 weeks old only.

Anyway starting abt 1 mth old, she already like us to carry her upright... she doesn't like the cradle method. maybe can see more things instead of ceiling? real cute...

Gemma has been smiling alot now... which is good. especially at faces. She likes people to speak to her and response to her oohs and ahs... She also like papa to exercise her hands and legs. She likes to laugh too. but too fast for me to capture. Soemtimes she can laugh in her sleep too. must be having sweet dreams.

She can be kapo too cos when she is drinking milk, if we are nearby or looking at her, she will be distracted and wans to smile instead of drinking! so we will normally move away so that she drink finish her milk first.

She is beginning to have more wakes where she only wans to play only.

Meaning of "Gemma"

I didn't really talk abt the origin of the name choosing earlier... I shall now roughly brief on the choice.

This name is chosen because it means "gem". She is definitely a precious gem in the eyes of us.

Also I wanted a name which means gem or jewel cos her brother's name also symbolise jewel or precious. Both of them are my precious little darlings... of cos there is an old one too lar ;p
